1977 FXS & 1986 FXR questions...anyone??
1. FXS: I have the following parts # 55963.77 that is for the "low-rise" handle-bars that came on the FXS in 1977. From what I've learned thru research is that these were considered factory "drag-bars" that came on this bike. If you do a search on the internet, of 1977 FXS Lowrider you will see a image of the Model that basically launched HD's FX Lowrider...( SEE ATTACHED IMAGE) The parts # is 55963.77 from HD... however there isn't a size specs available to cross ref w/ any after-market parts providers so that I can put these bars on my 86 FXR.
Does anyone have the size specs for for the "factory handle bars" on this bike? I would need the length of the riser, the HD parts catalog does not provide this info. I will order a "like" pair from another provider if I can figure out what the all the sizes are...
Center spacing for risers; center width; rise to the highest point; overall width; pull back
2. FXR: I have 32K on this bike and from what I've heard from a few riders is that after 30K on a EVO, that pushrods need to be replaced...I've called one respectable mechanic in the Orange County, CA area and he said if it is running ok, then why do it? I can do basic wrenching on my bike, but it is running ok, but this sounds to be a preventive step...anyone have any insight?
thanks and safe riding.
