bike shut of during riding
has anyone had a problem with their bike shutting off go down the road, if so what was the problem. I have a 07 road king just shut off going down the road it does not matter what speed I am at or the condition the road is in it just shut off. Then I have to turn the kill switch on and off then it will restart. Any idea will be helpful.

I had the same thing happen with a 2002 Heritage Springer. It threw a historical code that I had checked. It said it was due to a high voltage surge on the front injector. But by the time I had it checked I had already cranked the bike like another 80 times according to the computer.
Then it happened again several hundred miles later. Going down the interstate it acted like it was running out of gas. I had just filled up so I'm wondering if it was bad gas. It tripped the engine light but then it quit coming on. It did cut off though but like you said both times it cranked right back up. Since that time I have put about 1500 miles on the bike and it has not happened again. I'm wondering if I got a piece of trash in the fuel injection system.
The dealer was clueless.

I had the same problem with my bike. It turned out to be the ignition switch. Crud builds up on the contact an instead of a large area for contact it becomes real small. When you do something to move the switch (hit a bump, etc.), it moves out of the small contact area and the bike shuts off. If you clean the contact area, the problem should go away.

I'm having the same problem on my 09 EG Classic. Everything was great last year. It started this year. I have to pull over, shut it off for 10 seconds, and then start back up. It always fires back up & I might go for 2 months before it does it again. Could be a little dangerous if it happens while I'm passing somebody on a 2-lane. Dealer tells me that Harley is now finally admitting that they're aware of the problem. I was told that it's the throttle cable/harness inside the handlebar. Somehow gets corroded? Can anybody verify?
