I just used the dri-slide, nice applicator that doesn't create a big mess. I'm not sure how much to put in there, I just gave it a good squirt and figured that was a enough. Didn't want to put too much in there. Any feedback on that?

I know this post is old. But for what its worth, you will know when the entire cable is lubed when it starts dripping out the other end. I always put a paper towel at the other end of the cable and wait for it to drip out, but leave the paper towel there for a while till it all drips out.

I know this is not directly related but can someone tell me what the two adjustable throttle cables are for on my bike? I believe one is for throttle play, the front one. But if that is correct what is the other one for? I have slightly played around with both and don't know what I am actually doing. I know one gave me more slack on the throttle or more play in it before it starts accelerating. Can someone help or point me in a better direction to find out? I do not have a service manual but I do need to get one. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Push/pull cables. One is to open the throttle and the other pulls it shut. You can thank the law makers for this one. People donot maintain their bikes well, so if your throttle hangs a little on release, the push cable helps make sure it will close. Andget a manual....best toolyou will ever buy!

More thread resurrection. Go to a good bicycle shop. They'll have cable lube. I've used a product made by White Lightening. It's a paraffin based spray, comes out white and dries clear, sheds dirt too. You'll be able to find TriFlow too. Many a mountain biker will attest to its effectiveness.

Thread revival from 2014. Not a record but certainly noteworthy.
You can do like me - buy the nice cable luber tool, quality lube and then find out the way the cable is constructed in a way so I can't use the luber tool so just resort to the gravity and motor oil method.
That's right - motor oil. Black gold. Texas tea.
My bike has not protested in any way. Works better than ever.
