Default Major problem with bike jack...

I have a major problem. I have a Torin Big Red m/c jack. I jacked my Dyna as high as it could go and I released the handle to let the jack sit on the last stop on the jack (instead of the bottle jack itself). Now.. when I pump my jack the handle is completely free as if there is NO pressure at all in the bottle itself. This means I can't jack the bike up high enough to release the arm that is holding the jack in place. Basically.. my bike is stuck up in the air on the jack.

WTF?????

Not to be a smart ***, but did you close the valve on the bottle jack before trying to raise it ? Sometimes it can the simplest of things.

Otherwise the bottle jack failed internal and you'll have to get a crew together to lift the bike off the jack.

Also, be sure that the lock is fully engaged ( so the jack cannot come down ) and check to see if you can open the hydraulic release. Let the piston retract fully and check to see that the fluid is at the proper level. You may have a low hydraulic fluid situation and refilling the fluid will resolve the situation.

Yep. I've forgotten to close the valve after opening it to let the stops come into play
