Default Airhawk R Seat Pad

I just installed the AirHawk R seatpad. My first ride on it I thought that I wasted money on it. But when I stopped and let some air out it began to feel better and better. I must have stopped 5 times before I got the feeling to where it felt right.

We are heading to Sturgis this Sunday. I wanted to trailer it as Im not one to go on long trips over 1000 miles. My riding friend encouraged me to ride the whole way and I wasn't sure I could but agreed to it.

Anyway, long story short I bought this because there was no way for me to ride the 1000 miles on my seat. Glad I bought this. Got the cheapest price on eBay for $135.

I made a video of me installing it on my bike. I tried the quick method of installation and it was worthless. In order to get it attached to my bike securely I had to remove the seat.

Man I'm glad I found this video. I would have never figured that out myself.

I have to admit that I think they are butt ugly, however several close friends swear by them and even Mrs B is considering one for her Sporty. Harley have their own branded versions (may be the same product?) and here in the UK we have an alternative brand in DebbonAir, who specialise in medical pressure cushions (so have good credentials).

Default Airhawk cushions

The Airhawk cushions have been in the medical field for many years and are heavily involved in the Wounded Warrior Program, which is where I found out about them. I have a old military injury from my tour in the 60's. I have four vertbrae, L2,3,4, and 5 which have no tissue left and are bone to bone. They had to implant an infusion pump into me about 6 1/2 years ago and it feeds Dilaudid to my spine 24/7 and 7 days a week. I still can't walk or stand or sit without pain. It has put a big dent into my riding. I purchased the AirHawk R pad and it allows me to ride again. They are worth many times the price of purchase which is about $130. The biggest mistake that people make is that they blow them all the way up and they will not work with this much air. They work best at a very low level of air. I ended up buying 2 of the large trucker models to place in chairs in my home and they have made a huge difference in how I feel. Take Care

I've had the the Airhawk R for 3 years and 30k miles and before the older Airhawk pad was on since 1999. Worth every penny ... I use it in my car and truck for long trips too.
Replacement valves and are available from Roho (http://www.therohogroup.com/) - they manufacture the Airhawk as well as the medical wheel chair and hospital bed cushions in use for a long time. If you buy from Roho they give you a 60 day money back guarantee.
An added bonus is it allows air to flow under you to keep the body parts cooler on the hot days ....
