Default Blessing of the Bikes-Southern Illinois

Is there anyone here planning to go to Blessing of the Bikes in late april? It is located in Alto pass Illinois, just a one day deal, I don't believe there is any alcohol related events, good family atmosphere. Very beautiful location.

Can you provide more info like specific dates and nice places to ride around there? I live in St. Louis and would take a ride down there if it looks interesting...

I am pretty sure that day is april 26th, it is a sunday. I know last year there were over 5000 bikes that showed up throughout the whole day. Not just a harley event, bikes of all types are invited. This will actually be my first year up there since I was a small child, so I don't really remember all that well. I do know however there are many wineries nearby, so if that is something you are into, it could be a good time.

I'll be there. It is alway on the last Sunday in April and is a really good kickoff to the riding season. Lots of scenic views dwon in that area. It's well worth the trip. Get there early though, the bike traffic will be stop and go and mostly stop after around 10:00 in the morning. Hope to see some of y'all there.

sportytrike thanks for the heads up on the traffic. I've been there several times in the last few years, but never during the blessing of the bikes. It is a beautiful view. I wouldn't want to be on Bald **** Wilderness/Shawnee National Forrest Road in a stop and go situation, so I get there early, if I can make it this time.

There will be about 100 from the St. Clair co. HOG chapter there. It is way too crowded for me went a few times but it gets bigger every year. It is dry down there on Sundays.
