may be goen to bikefest in lake of the ozarks, but if rained out we should be going to raceway sunday...but dauummmm $80.00 to attend for me and my OL plus extra $$$ for breakfast and events.
I've got a group but thought I'd keep an eye out for folks.
It is expensive, but it is a good cause. Thinking about it for an economic point of view I think them charging high is probably good. This large of a ride has a lot of overhead. If they charged $20 a head they would have to have 16,000 riders to make the same money and they would incur more costs to run the day. In the end they would make less than they do now for the charity. With 4-8 thousand bikers showing up they could probably charge more and make it easier to run.

I agree. I am on the verge of needing charity myself, however I do not mind spending $70-80 once a year to support a good cause. My daughter, who is 10, will ride with me. This will be her second charity ride. She loves seeing the loooong line of bikes for as far as the eye can see and being part of it. It is worth the $ to see the smile on her face and the excitment of it all in her eye. Then she goes back to school and tells all of her friends about it and how much fun she had.

I haven't heard any numbers as far as how many riders showed up, but they did announce that the B4B's in KC raised $660k this year, again making it the largerst in the country. We had a blast. Haven't heard any updates on any of the downed riders. Pisses me off that our local New Channels never seem to cover this event. I checked all 3 of the major one's and i found one little blurb about it and nothing else.
It was good seeing your and the little lady yesterday Crashin.

Good seeing you guys to. I keep thinking that it was a great charity and all but having that many bikes on a run makes it very difficult to enjoy the ride. I would have had more fun riding with 10-20 bikes and not stop and go for 30 minutes to get through a stop sign.
We should make a dinner run some Friday or a lunch run on Saturday. Pick a spot 1-2 hours out and make it an event without a charity involved. Wabash BBQ might be a good one.
