A post over on reddit titled "Noisy Motorcycles With Altered Mufflers Should Face $1K Fines" seems like most of the people commenting are in favor so I thought we may want to weigh in since if this law passes it could effect us all. one state follows another etc.etc.

What a bunch of fools. I have always believed loud pipes save lives. I usually get Sampson, usually straight or fishtails. They are loud. They sound good. I haven't been hit by another driver. I've heard but not seen bikes with loud pipes and knew to be aware when driving the car. I've not heard many quiet bikes (like goldwings) and damn near run over them when they have been in my blind spot.
AMA will be on this, they are a powerful force in the biking community. I won't terrorize your neighborhood with my pipes, but I won't change them either. If you live close to the freeway, why ain't you bitchin' about all the trucks delivering your Chinese made crapola to Walmart?
