Side Car ?

I spent the winter putting a sidecar on my 2002 FXD for the hound - it's a Velorex 700 frame with a homemade body - and I LOVE it! I have occasional knee/ankle problem but riding with the sidecar never bothers me. It handles uneven/loose/slippery surfaces just fine (once you get used to being asymmetrical) and is no problem at all on the highway. I have ridden the FXD with and without the hack and actually prefer 3 wheels to 2 - it is just very relaxing, even touring country roads at low speed - and I always have lots of storage/carrying space with me.
It only takes about 20 minutes to remove the sidecar or 30 to put it back on but I don't think it will be coming off very often.

The trike makes the sidecar obsolete for almost any purpose I can think of. They're cool, but obsolete. Especially with the more affordable Freewheeler now available.
Asymmetrical steering and a seat so low no disabled person can get out of it without a crane? Yeah, obsolete.

In my sidecar: Four rifles in cases, two shotguns in cases, four pistols in my range bag, all the ammo, targets and clays we needed, along with a cooler full of ice, water, sodas and sandwiches.
Try packing that on a trike.
