Default Transport trailer

Wife has a CSC conversion Goldwing trike. I have a new Breakout that we customized (turned out beautifully). Any input as to what length of a covered trailer I need to haul both of these machines?

Measure the length of the bikes parked liked they are in a trailer.
Then add some space in the front and rear. You will need to have room for tie downs.
Keep in mind anything extra that will go on the floor.

Some smaller stuff can go in hanging cabinets on the sides.

The trike takes up a lot of space but when backed into the trailer it leaves some more room. I'm trying to go as small a dual axle trailer as I can. But the trike makes it difficult.
Thanks for your input.

I would think 16 x 7 would be about as small as you could go and that is assuming you can get the Breakout over to the side of the front of the trike. If possible angle the trike in at the last moment. If you have to loaded them front to back centered you will need an 18 footer. Wheel chock and tiedown placement would be much simpler straight front to back!

I looked at a Haulmark low hauler v-nose trailer. Placing the trike front first allowed for more room. The Harley would have to be placed at a side type position. I believed the trailer was a 7X16?

You should be able to get the 7x16 to work with a little figuring. Most any 1/2 ton truck will pull it OK also. If you happen to own a 3/4 ton so much the better.

The only real issue I see might be tongue weight with the trike up front. That can be helped by loading some other heavy stuff towards the rear of the trailer along with the bike.

Exactly. The guy from the trailer joint got out his calculator and with the bikes weights came up with a loading configuration mostly focusing on just what you stated. The tongue weight with the v-nose trailer would be too heavy thus a need for more weight in the rear of the trailer. I own a F-250 diesel so there's no problem pulling it. These new trailers are aluminum builds and weight very little for their size. Thanks for your thoughts. Much appreciated.

Glad it sounds like you have a knowledgeable and honest salesman. Most RV and trailer salesman would tell you a Geo Metro could haul that trailer

Yes he was honest. And the outfit he works for does a good business selling trailers and motor homes. Some of these big units in excess of $800K. I'll pass thank you.
