I just scored a Hitch Doc hiddenish type receiver setup with a ball. I have seen other setups like giant heim joints, a threaded rod type of delio on the trailer tongue that allows it to spin when leaning.


What is actually needed or works best ??


This will be my first attempt in towing with a motorcycle, I have no trailer yet but want to be ready when I find one or perhaps make one.

 

a simple ball hitch will do the job. Bushtec uses a heim joint setup, and a lot of people use this:

I made my own trailer by modding one from a Harbor freight one. We've pulled it for about 1000 miles using a ball hitch and have had no problems as of yet

I just want to have the bike, wiring and coupler along with safety chains all figured out way before I get a trailer.

I missed out on a smokin deal on a great trailer becuase I was not ready.

 

I towed for the first time traveling 1600 mi. in Sept.

My trailer had a standard coupling which worked fine.
