Take a look at Liberty Sidecars. they are the closest in design to the 36-66 type sidecars. They also offer raked triple tree to improve the handling of the bike with the sidecar.

Here is a pic of my 94 Ultra an California Friendship III sidecar with my grandsons going for a ride! My daughters rode in that until they graduated high school! They have been to Sturgis 5 years in a row 94-99 from NY. Over 60,000 miles with the sidecar on? Have had several HD rigs since 1968? Unfortunately California doesn't make sidecars anymore but they come up for sale periodically on EBay for around $3000-$4000? I just bought one for my oldest daughter and my granddaughters bike and sidecar mounted on an old wing for $3500.

I have a Champion Sidecar, the Escort model. See link below.
http://www.dmcsidecars.com/sidecars/champion-escort/

I had a Velorex and Motorvation before this. I really like the Champion as it has a convertible roof that goes on and off easily. Great for kids.

Do your research, make sure you know what you want. If possible, look at some, have the kids get in and out, make sure it is convenient and easy.

Oh, and make sure you keep a standard 2 wheeled motorcycle. Sidecar rigs are fun, but not the same. You'll miss 2 wheels for sure.

I found mine on Craigslist. It was attached to a 2006 ultra. I had to change to a lower shock but other than that it was a bolt on. Still tweaking and I think I will put the raked tree on, but I love it. A different ride for sure and it does take some concentration but I'm hoping that I will get more comfortable over time.

I still need paint but that will wait till winter.

Yeah. I love it. My friends said "a SIDECAR??" Yep

This is on a bridge my great grandfather helped build. It's off the main road now so it's kinda out of the way.

like motorcycles a nice preowned "chair" can save $$$$, remember though if not on a similar bike previously new mounts will be needed. as i mentioned to others FreedomSidecars in Pa does it all correctly, give Claude a call they can make or install anything you want!!

Default Hack for Harley

+1 on "Liberty" top quality, excl. brake and ride (coil over adj. shock along with the leaf spring mounting). Also, DMC sidecars in Washington state would be another choice. Both have lots of pictures of "customers rigs" and past builds to give ideas of their work! Mine is a Liberty.
