Default Side cars

So I have a 2003 Heritage Softail Classic. My wife is hoping to learn to ride and get a Softail Slim later this year. We want to take lots of scooting trips but we have a 7 and a 5 year old and my wife is very iffy about letting them ride on the back even with proper gear. Does anyone have recommendations on sidecars that could fit two kids and isn't something hideous?

If you're gonna have two bikes get two sidecars. A sidecar rig is fairly wide and those two person sidecars are way wide and as you say.....hideous, but just my opinion.

I'd take a look at prices before I'd commit to a side car. My Motorvation Spyder sidecar costs me around $6000.00 back in 2010, not to mention the cost and time to ride out (Iowa) and have it installed. Plus, unless you get one of those fugly two person sidecars, you're looking at two of them. Here's what my Spyder looked like on my Deluxe.

Here's another picture from the front. Here's a link to the Motorvation site photo gallery that has some pictures of the other models that will hold two kids.

Check out Hannigan sidecars, they make several different models that will easily carry two kids, and a couple that can carry two adults. We have no problem carrying two grandkids (5 and 8) in ours.

Also, check out the United Sidecar forum, lots of good information and a classified section that often has used sidecars for sale.

Thanks much. Wish I still had it though. I sold it to buy my XXX. However, I would have had to beef up the engine if I kept it. The Deluxe wasn't made to haul a sidecar. But, it did look good.... Motorvation really did a great job paint matching it.

Side car on a soft tail is a bit different. keep in mind the side car puts some stress on the engine also. here is a 1996 FB softail with a side car.
