Tire spin while Torqing Lug Nuts on Trailer
Any tips to keep the tire from spinning? 4.80/4.00-8 tires/wheels. Tired chocks, tried a C-clamp. Hate to use an air impact and break a stud or not know what the torque is.

Tires getting off or on?
I have a trailer but have never removed them but I had a '40 Ford that I got fooled on when removing the left rear tire.
I managed to twist off the lug.
Then I found out it was reverse threads.
I should have been turning right instead of left to remove the lug nut.
I got fooled.
Guess when I do remove my tires (someday), I'll be careful to check direction of the threads.

At one time in the past, I had a 200+ lb friend sit in the trailer. That didn't help. They are right hand threads. I had 60's Mopars with left hand lugs. To simulate an away from home removal, I was able to loosen the lug nuts by hitting (tapping) an 18" breaker bar with a BFH. Wheel was chocked.
.
I had the same idea of the 4x4 clamp, but figured 2x4''s would (wood) work. Seems like allot of trouble.
