Another tip of the hat goes to Bushtec. Used deals can be found if you watch for em. I wouldn't run anytjing else after running a Bushtec. Both trailer weight and wind drag should be considered. Not to mention the suspension and tracking capabilities of these things.

I'm looking into getting a Triglide Ultra Classic that would need two carriages, for two different purposes. Among my options is to buy one or more trailers from the Armed Forces auctions and have a fabrication shop build them for their purpose. The military trailers come in all shapes and sizes, some are listed

Buy a Harbor Freight TagAlong. Inexpensive, light, and tracks well. Tow mine behind my 2012 Ultra Classic. Towed from MD to Grand Canyon and back. Hardly knew it was there, and bike handles better w/o all that weight in tour pak and bags.
Mods to mine: replaced all bolts with stainless, bought the HF LED trailer lights, and ran separate ground wire to each light. Also mounted handles on lid for easier opening, and, of course, put the large black and silver HD logo sticker on the back!
