Default Heritage Trike Conversion

Been a while since I was here. Got a question on the electronics box under the rear fender of a 2011 heritage.

I converted to a trike using a Frankenstein Trike Kit. It's a great kit and I am happy with it except for one problem!

The belt rides very close to the electronics box under the rear fender. So close that I had to take a Dremel tool and cut away some of the mounting bracket so the belt would not rub.

My question is can this box/bracket be moved over a bit or relocated.

Thanks for any help on this!

I have a Frankenstein kit on a 2008 Sportster and my drive belt runs in the stock location, I would think yours does as well. Your drive belt should be no closer to the box/bracket as it was before the kit was installed ... it's just that now you can see it due to the rear wheel being removed.

If you need to move it I wouldn't think that should be a problem. As long as everything plugs in correctly ... where it is mounted shouldn't make any difference.

I'm just not understanding how the belt could be closer now than it was before ... belt angle and location should be the same as it was before installing the Frankenstein kit.

No. The belt is not in it's original position! It is now about half a belt's width to the inside. It's been that way since day one. Enclosed are photos of it before I took a Dremel tool and notched the mounting bracket for clearance. there is about 1/8th inch clearance between the belt and the box!
