Hello from Oklahoma. Have had 2005 Harley Lowrider. Now looking at a Trike which was a 1995 883 Sportster upgraded to a 1200cc in 1999. The present owner had rocker arms and shocks replaced earlier in the year. She has not ridden it since March 2016.

I have read all available here related to replacrment of above mentioned parts to attempt learning possible reason for replacement as well as problem areas for that bike, the conversion and added addition of Trike kit.

Would appreciate any and all information possible to help determine whether or not to purchase. Thank you.

 

Welcome from Ohio. I would try to find the person/company that did the conversion and talk to them. Or someone else in your area that does these type of conversions.

 

20 year old bike, age on the shock seals would explain their replacement.cant help with the rocker arms. with a bike of that age all rubber or poly parts should be closely inspected. cork gaskets will start to give up as well.

 

Converted to a trike with what? Frankenstein, Champion, CSC or what. There are a million trike conversions available and it would be helpful if we knew what was used to convert it. What is she asking for it and how many miles are on it?

 

Just happened to run across this, hope it's not too late... but you've got an 883 transmission, pushed by a 1200 upper end, hauling the extra weight of another tire, wheel, and full axle?

Of course, if the 883 and 1200 trannies are the same, feel free to tell me what an idiot I am
