Yea, I would say they would definitely have to beef up the cc's on that engine to use it in a trike. What is that engine anyway? 1100-1200cc? I know the early V-Rods had more RPM than torque.

I think now they're something like 1250cc. Torque peaks at something like 7200 RPM & redlines at about 9000RPM. Kind of like having a crotch-rocket trike.
I actually thought about buying one of the "V-Rod Muscle"s when they came out. Sharp looking bike but sanity kicked in and I didn't. I probably would have gotten splattered into the side of an suv by now.

10-4 on that! I had a chance to demo one last summer but the line was too long. Probably to my advantage. Test rode a basic V-Rod when they first came out and got a bit crazy with that one. Fastest bike I'd ever ridden!

The bottom end still gets a lot of oil spash cooling and if they would put some better crank bearings in I believe it would be bullit proof. The big Cu. In. Twin Cam could be a torque monster if EPA would let Harley build them to pre 06 standards.
The V-Rod is like the small block chevy, you can get the same HP if you build them in the "upper RPM range" but the Big Block Chevy gives you that low end stump pulling torque. I like the low end torque of the big twin cams before the EPA neutered them.

+1, I road a Night Rod a couple years back. The bugger was kind of fun to ride but a real pooch below 4,000 rpm.
