Installed a Frankenstein kit on my wife's Nightster in a day. Fun to do and excellent outcome. Very easy with the parts they sell.

TX Outlaw, if you don't mind me asking, about how much did the set up cost you? I was looking for a single, closed in rear, but I like the look with the wide tires on that Nightster. My husband does 99% of the work on our bikes, and if it's as easy as you say, I'm sure him and his buddy could install it on my bike.

I purchased the rearend and swingarm from Frankenstein along with the 5 degree trees. Their prices are posted on the website. The wheels are Dayton Wire Wheels (15x8) I ordered to match the front wheel - kinda expensive, but thought it was worth it. The tires are Nitto 275/50x15 Street/Drag tires, which are also pretty expensive. Less expensive tires and rims can be purchased, but I wanted wide tires for the 15" rims. All in all, probably about $6000 in it.
If your husband does the work on your bikes, he can surely do the install of the Frankenstein kit. Check out the video on their website. It really is that easy! I did the work by myself while the wife was at work. A helper would have been nice, but I just did what I had to to get the job done.

I have a few more questions for you. Is her bike an 883 or a 1200? Mine's only an 883, and I'm wondering if I'd have to do the engine upgrade with the Frankenstein kit? I'd be the only one riding my bike, and I'm a very petite little lady.

The Nightster is a 1200. I would say it depends on the riding you do. I added cams to the wife's bike to keep the power for the extra weight. She normally rides alone, but when we do road trips, she carries the bags. LOL!

What does your installer recommend? Choosing an installer requires a huge leap of faith and IMO, is more important that the actual kit manufacture. If they are comfortable working a certain conversion, I don’t think that I would force them out that comfort zone. A good install is critical to a good finished product.

Good luck!

Do you have any pics of the kit on the bike?

Paghco just announced a swing arm and axle kit for the latest 2 revisions of sportster chassis. I think it was about $1300 for the 2 items. Doesn't come with bodywork, but a good fabricator should be able to hook you up. Good luck and enjoy!
