🏍 The Very Last Ride 🤧
When my husband abruptly and unexpected checked out of life in mid-conversation with me and without warning, I was crushed. I spent three days stirring at the wall, then went on a mission to send him off in a funeral that reflected the life he lived. I was able to secure a Harley-Davidson hearse and organized his last ride on the open road. At least 125 HD motorcycles signed waivers to join the ride. We had to hire 9-10 traffic controllers from LAPD who ensured safe passage on the approxupimately 50 miles ride. First we drove him to his HD dealership, Barger Harley-Davidson, and stayed there for 40 minutes, then we drove back to Eternal valley. It was simply an awesome and heart-warming sight to see the many motorcycles that kept on coming (in the first video). People stopped their cars and bikes along the route to take photos, and when we finally came to the chapel, the many motorcycles just kept on coming.
First video is from the very large funeral procession arrived at the chapel. The second video was when he was moved from the chapel to his final resting place (very steep hills so at that time, the many motorcycles were parked on level ground.) I allowed one of his friends to ride shot-gun on our precious Motorcycle Guzzi, that friend is the single rider in the second video, with me in the limo and another friend in a vintage Dodge Charger.
I chose to respect the life he choose to live, both at his Celebration of Life service and on his mausoleum. #HarleyRocks I feel he's proud of the steps I took and chuckles over my lilac-colored shimmery bike. That was his vision for me to have and I choose to continue his and our plans.
