Default Video Shows Scumbag Stealing 2011 Sportster From Gated Garage

Just posted this over on the blog.

Here's every riders nightmare—caught on camera. I don't think there are too many folks who ride that aren't worried about some piece of **** making off with their bike, and this video shows just how easy it can be done. Watching the thief bang the bars back and forth to break the steering lock made me sick to my stomach. Here's the description of the incident from the unlucky owner:
It was stolen Friday at 4am in Tempe Az in a pretty nice building, gated, security, and well lit corner under a camera
A 2011 Harley Davidson Iron Sportster, stage 1ed it, 1200 motor upgrade, plunderdog saddlebags, mustang seat, VH staggered pipes, chiped and tuned.

Steering is locked that is why he is yanking it back and forth so much.

Multiple clips I had to film if their monitor with me iPhone.

No info yet, cops have his bike and dusting for prints.

Have insurance will find out how good today.

First motorcycle I've ever bought. Saved up for awhile. Wanted to ride forever. Paid cash. Trip to LA and down the coast to
San Diego. And the good spots across Az.

She will be missed.

I hope the guy falls and gets paralyzed.
If you're in the Tempe Arizona area, keep a look out for this bike. I'm hoping the owner gets it back, or at least gets a decent deal from his insurance.

I have insurance for the chances I don't catch them in the act.

Something isn't right. How can a security cam follow the subject as in a movie cam? Isn't a security cam stationery or at most panning left to right rather than following a subject's movement? Also, notice the cam zomes in and out.

Many security cams can pan left, right, up and down. They can also zoom in and out. Check out security cameras at a Wal Mart next time you go.

Watch the date stamp at the top, it doesn't move. It's a video of a video.

Exactly...the dude said he used his iphone to video the tape(monitor) of the incident.

Do all sportsters have that much play in their handlebars while locked? My forks don't move enough to get that kind of momentum.

They don't he snapped the fork lock. If that were my bike I would probably make me sick watching it be stolen. I'm glad I have a garage and a spare bedroom.

When I was 14, I lost my key to my bike while away from home. I cut my own fork lock and hotwired my bike in about five minutes and I had no idea how to do either until then. It doesn't take much.

I've always said, if some idiot wants something bad enough they'll figure out a way to take it regardless of how difficult it is or how much you try to secure it or protect it.
