Finally got map downloaded, stored codes showed every sensor bad. Installed new hotter NGK plugs. 1st start on new plugs is like it should be, but, after running for 10 or so minutes and shutting off, it does the kick back on the starter and backfires thru intake. Pull plugs and front is fouled. took plug wire off and tested it, showed 7100 volts on tester, so according to manual, it falls into the normal 5000 to 11600 range. Taking to a buddy's shop who has more knowledge than me, as well as a shop full of specialty tools, to drain a full tank of fuel and pull coil to test it. Starting to think it may be the VFI causing problem, or a leaking injector on the front cylinder.

 

Found front injector leaking, replaced both, new plugs. It now starts and runs like it's supposed to. Fingers crossed that it stays that way, lol.

17 degrees this morning with chance of snow tomorrow and Sunday, so today will be my last hurrah for a while, lol.

 

Rode it 6 miles home, hooked maintainer to it and left it til today. Went out and tried to start it, just spins the starter, not trying to fire. Fuel pump spools up and shuts off, spark is nice and blue on both plugs, but plugs are powder house dry. No gas smell even with plugs out. I'm stumped again. Ran like a scalded dog going home, never a miss, stutter, or anything. Ran great, now this. Frustrating, to say the least!
