Default Voes and S&S IST

Does anyone know if you still need the voes when running an S&S IST? I did a tc on an evo mount in my 98 heritage running the ist ignition. I cut off the voes to make room for the head temp sensor. THe ist instructions don't explain whether or not I need to keep the voes switch.

VOES and the IST - The IST can't do anything with the VOES - it has to have a MAP sensor hooked up.

I've got it all hooked up, so when I came across my existing voes hanging out with no place to go I discarded it. I just wanted to ask around as to whether I really needed it or not.
