Default Strange spark bug single fire igniton

I have a problem that just isn't making sense to me!!
87 sporty 1100, dyna 2000i ignition & coils. Screaming eagle wires. Ngk plugs.
Ok the bike ran fine then all of a sudden my front cylinder stopped firing. I let the bike idle and began prodding at my wires , when I removed my front plug wire it began to fire on both cylinders again and will do so as long as the boot is about a Half Inch above the plug ,but I get nothing when it is fully connected.
I bought a new set of the same ngk plugs and it did not help
Maybe you can?!

Sounds like you may have a bad spark plug wire. I'd try a new set.

You probably pulled the connector off the wire in the boot. Moving it some just happens to make a connection.
