Default 111" motor, which TB?

So, I'll be installing an S&S T111 crate motor. I was planning on using the stock throttle body, but am starting to consider upgrading. What size, and / or manufacturers should I be considering? I think S&S suggests their 58mm. Do I need to go that big? Is it thAt big? Would an SE 50 work?

Thanks in advance.

I've had two different Screaming Eagle 58mm throttle bodies. One a TBW and the other was cable. I've since switched out both of them for HPI throttle bodies. No comparison in quality. HPI hands down. For the 111" I'd suggest their 55mm unit. I have a HPI 58mm on my 124" and its a bit twitchy. I should have used the 55mm.

Thanks! I'm thinking, when the time comes, the 55 is the happy medium. Will handle if I build the motor, will handle now.

What model bike? The T111 is a touring "A" motor, correct? For the price of that crate motor the T124 makes more sense.

I just received a 55/58 elliptical throttle body for my Road Glide. Should be a runner once I get it all back together.

Nah. It's only 500 bucks different list price. But, the shorter stroke and the longer piston skirt make it a better engine for my application. I ride my 05 Dyna 200 miles a day on my commute. So, I'm more worried about everyday street-ability then peak numbers.

The 55/58 option looks like a good one. May end up with a 55 at some point. I have tentatively decided the sticker will get put on for now.

Hi XFXDX

Im also considering purchase of V 111 crate engine from S&S. Can you please share some info on reliability of this product ? Any problems with it? How many miles did you made on that ?

Thanks in advance
