Picking up a 08 flhtp Monday. when I went and looked at it, most electra glides and bikes with same igniton switches I have seen you turn the switch so the bottom goes to the left and top to the right to start it. Well this one you turn the switch and the bottom goes to the right and top goes to the left is this right? Or did something get messed up somewhere down the road? I know it's a crappy explanation on how it works but it's the best I can think of. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

 

Not sure if anything is messed up, but I have never seen that before. The switch should look like number 1 in this photo.

 

That's how it looks. But what I'm asking is which way would it "normally" turn to get the bike to on like, the bottom of that switch which way would it be facing to the left right? Cause mine you turn to the right. It just doesn't seem right to me. Every one I have seen people grab it and turn it clockwise mine you grab and turn it counter clockwise to be in the ON position.

 

Top turns clockwise. Bottom turns toward counter-clockwise.

 

Wouldn't that mean it cancels itself out one turning clockwise and other counter clockwise? It wouldn't move lol. Screw it it starts and runs and the lights work I'll just drive the **** out of her
