Default More air????

I have V&H power duals, rinehart slip ons and screaming eagle A/C on a 12 Ultra. Ran really good until I put an A/C cover from a 2014 Ultra on it. Is it possible it is getting that much more air? Thanks!

What's wrong with the way it's running? And what kind of tuner do you have?

I bought it second hand and the guy had everything done at the dealership so I assumed they tuned it there, maybe not. It just feels sluggish - doesn't have the same throttle response.

It might be a coincidence, but if you put the old cover back on does it still run bad?
You should call the dealer and see what the service records say about remapping or installing a tuner. If it was flash tuned they should be able to tell you, and if there is a piggyback tuner you should be able to find it hooked up the to ECM.
Seems doubtful that a different cover would make much difference in air flow, especially if the filter element wasn't changed.

I really like the latest cover, so best of luck getting it sorted out! It may just be that it doesn't properly seal against your air filter inside, which will cause your bike to run lean.

I didn't think about the seal between the cover and the filter. I will check that also.

I haven't seen inside the round filter so don't know what shape the filter unit is, compared with yours. If there is an air gap between the cover and your filter, your filter isn't doing any filtering! The cover should seal all around the filter, so the air can only get into your engine by being drawn through the walls of the filter.
