Hi I have a 2004 road king- fuel ing. that , when start after a 2-3 hrs stop, run like and old tractor.


When I stact my engine it run like it is not timed, it is like the fire is cuting off,
ex; I take off and run down the street, to stop, it goes like that for 1 - 2 min, and than will run like if the choke and came on , that for 30sec. and back to normal....
what can I do to correct this, please
my freind have one like mine , and hen he start is, it kind off go on the choke for 10/15 sec and idle down to normal runing.

 

Check the Crank Position Sensor.

 

In-tank fuel lines may have developed pin holes, When fuel level is low remove gas cap, look inside tank with a flashlight and cycle the ignition switch. Look and listen for evidence of fuel spray, hissing and gurgling of fuel.

 

well, I add some fuel injection cleaner to a full tank of gas , and it did help, will let you know in further development.

 

This, I had same symptoms and it was the fuel line in the tank. Remove the gas cap and turn on ignition. If you hear gurgling or bubbles it's time for new vent tube in tank. Might as well replace the filter while in there.

 

ok so mutch for that cleaner, it did help, like- when starting, she would do 2 stage of idling, but now she is back likw she was a eek ago,,,,, I guess it's time to plunge in the tank, now I have to change all the hoses in there?? plus the gaz filter...

 

Yestherday ,,, befor going in to the gas tank, I when and bauth a spray can of ingector cleaner, and got the air filther out and spray some of that stuff in there, ,,, and today I when out for a ride and guest what, there was a diffrence in the Idell at start time, it is not at where I would like it to be,,, but there is a big difference,, I will put some more tomorow,,hope this is correct.

 

clean your iac were u sprayed the throttle body look at top see hole in top spray in hole with cleaner spray it out good that's your iac see if that helps. if not check fuel pressure
