P0031 Safe to ride?
So while decatting my headers I may have messed up the o2 sensor. Oops. Getting a P0031 code which means bad o2 sensor. Is it safe to ride it with a broken o2 sensor? All the dealerships are completely booked up getting everyone ready for Sturgis and can't accommodate me right now. I have a ride on Monday I am trying to make.

You could always buy a new O2 sensor and install it yourself. Get the right one from the dealer or indy. Not sure if auto parts stores will have the right ones since I never seem to have any luck with common items like that at any of the auto stores we have around here. Takes 10 minutes and an adjustable wrench would work fine if you don't have any other tools.
I think it will just run super rich since there is no feedback but it could put itself into 'limp back mode' and that would suck to possibly run a whole day on one cylinder. Remember, I said I think. I have no real knowledge that's what will happen or if that's how the limp mode works for your bike.

Yes the code went away. I was only going to let the dealer do it because the service writer said he could get it covered under warranty if I brought it in. Since they are busy till Tuesday I opted to just buy the sensor and enjoy this 80 degree cloudy weekend we have here. Set me back 60 bucks for the sensor.
