Default Just ordered PV-1, have question.

I just ordered a PV-1 for my 2013 Ultra Limited. I have a buddy that has one installed on his 2012 and he told me he has heard of issues of the handlebar audio controls not working due to interference if the PV wiring is run along the backbone of the frame with the other bike wiring.

Has anyone else heard of this or experienced this? He ran his wiring over the top of the fuel tank and under the console because of this. Couldn't one just shield the PV wiring if there was a chance of interference? And if so, how would one shield it?

Thank you for any and all help.

I have never heard of such problem. I ran my data cable above the tank just like your friend did as I thought that would make it easier to remove when I am done tuning. I come to like the gauges so it has stayed mounted. No interference with the radio or the controls that I have noticed.

Never heard of that, but have heard of interference from the spark plugs, etc. affecting the PV.

Mount it like your friend did: Its clean, only takes 10 minutes, the tank shields the PV wiring, and can be left in place or undone at any time.

No brainer..

Never heard that either. When I first installed the PV, I just ran the wire above the tank as PauleyB said but after using it for awhile decided I really like the gauges so I ran it in the tray. No issues at all. When I'm not tuning I use the gauge display. Works great especially not that I'm using Target Tune it allows me to view WBO signals.
