Default Fuelpack 3

Will putting a FP3 on before changing air handler or pipes do anything?

No. It has to be "activated" to change any of the engines parameters. It'll just sit there like a brick until then. I'm not sure why you'd want to do that tho?

You can run a stock setup using the FP3

Will that produce any power increase or is there any positive for doing it?

I haven't done it so I can't speak from experience because I installed it along with the stage 1 kit @ the same time.

I am pretty sure that running a stock base map and using the auto tune feature will richen up the map because WE all know these bikes maps arrive extremely lean from the factory for emissions reasons etc. therefore by adding fuel it should cool your bike down and in return add a little power or at least run a little smoother

It would also allow you to use a host of utilities and features on the FP-3. Too many to list here, but some are detailed instrumentation, temps, view and erase codes, calibrate speedo, etc..

If you do enrichen the air-to-fuel ratio using the FP3 you have to be careful not to go too far as it can clog the catalytic converter. It won't happen "overnight" but it will over an extended amount of time. The amount of horsepower and torque gained will be negligible until you change into at the very least a "Stage 1" upgrade.

This is no longer relevant for new catalysts and current fuel blends. This only applied back to older cars that were still using leaded fuels and catalysts that would not heat up fast enough to burn off the residual fuel. We have seen this in our testing of C.A.R.B (California Air Resource Board) Compliant systems. You would be amazed at how fast current catalysts heat up after a cold engine has started. Normal operating temperature for the catalyst is anywhere between 1,300 and 1,700 degrees. The blends of Rhodium, Platinum and Palladium are far more efficient now days.

On a side note, you will see some gains in stock form, (2-3hp) using the FP3. 4-5hp using a high flow air filter and everything else stock. But as OldEnuf2NoBtr said, you will see the greatest change by changing out the complete exhaust and intake all at once. Typically a gain of 10-12% depending on the setup.

How will it affect fuel mileage? I getting 51 mpg stock with 800 miles on the engine.

Obviously by it adding more fuel to your map it will decrease your mpg's but it's not like your gonna lose a drastic amount
