Default Gas leak from check valve or fuel line - 2002 FLHTCUI

There is a tiny leak right at the bottom of the tank. I can't tell if it's the check valve or the fuel line.

How do you release the fuel line from the check valve? I can't see any mechanism to pop it off.

Answered my own question - push up on the chrome collar to release the fuel line.

When I turn the pump on, about 1/2 oz. of fuel runs out, then it slows down to about 2 drops per second when idling. Probably more when running at speed.

Definite fire hazard.

Anybody rebuild one of these?

I believe that there is a rebuild kit for the check valve. You can also buy a new check valve assembly.

There is a rebuild kit for the check valve, but it's a real PITA to install the O-rings. You either have a bad O-ring or both O-rings are shot, there are two of them in there an upper and a lower. If you do attempt to go the repair kit route.. good luck trying to do it while the tanks installed. Depending of the year of your bike, I would just replaced the assembly coming from the fuel pump. After time, the clear fuel hose gets hard and brittle and you will end up replacing it anyway. I had the same leak while I was in Sturgis last year and ended up replacing the entire assembly in the Harley parking lot before we rode home to Florida!

This video shows how they repair the check valve.

I'd call the dealer and see if they have the tool and would loan it out. If not looks like a little pic would work too.
