New to the tuner/programmer world. Help me out.
I need a little help, I've previously had carbed bikes so I don't know much about tuning. I recently bought a 13 wide glide. Bike has big sucker and bigshots on it. I looked under the seat but didn't see any type of programmer plugged in. Curious to know if there's any way to tell if the bike was tuned previously. Do you need to keep the tuners plugged into the bike when you re-map or flash it? It runs a little rich, so I want to correct it. Any other places I should check to see if there's a programmer hooked up? Thanks

1. Go back to the seller and ask for the tuning device.
2. Take it to someone with a tuning device such as a TTS and ask them to verify the tune calibration number in the ECM with their TTS. You can do everything to any bike with another TTS but flash your bike.
There are two types of tuning devices... Bolt on (Which you can't find) and Flash tuner. If it was flashed by an aftermarket device the tuning box is floating around.
The last option would be a Harley flash from the dealer. There again.. get the tune calibration number... that will tell what's what.

I agree with Mr. Wizard find out from the seller. If it was a HD dealer they should be able to hook up and look at the map and see if it's stock or not.
Lots of different tuning devices out there. DK gives a good explanation here

Have that dealer call the person they bought it from and ask. Have them give the old owner your contact information and ask that person to call you.
