Hi all,

I have an '06 Electraglide with only 24,000 miles. It will run like a brand new bike, as expected, since it's barely broken in. Then out of the blue, it'll stall when I close the throttle. Like when taking a freeway off ramp with a stop at the end of it. I've only had it since March, so I'm still learning it's idiosyncrasies.

Is it the beginnings of the ECM issue? I'm taking it in for a check up, new front tire and a few other things, right before we embark on a HUGE cross country trip. I'll be by myself most of the time, and want to be able to depend on the bike as much as possible.

I have an 04 road king FLHRI that does the same. Seems only when the motor is hot, running interstate for a while. Pull off and it will barely idle/stall. If you give it 30 seconds or so the idle speed picks back up to normal. Sound the same as yours?


I think it is a take it to the dealer for the computer hook up.

 

We did put a new exhaust on the bike before I started riding it. It just dies, no bucking, snorting pr darting. Possibly needing mapped?

 

2 things come to mind that could be causing this, it could be too rich in deceleration which could be fixed with a dyno tune or you could have a bad VSS (vehicle speed sensor).

 

It could also be something as easy and simple as a dirty IAC. Try cleaning it and see if it helps.

 

06 had many IAC problems and a classic symptom was stalling when letting off throttle coming to a stop.
