Default Dyno tune

Who has had their bike dyno tuned with a power commander? Trying to get an idea on what it will cost me...Had one tuner say it would take about 5 hours, and that seemed way too long, especially at $60-80an hour.

Should be in the $300 to $350 range in my opinion.

Had Dr. Dyno (Fred Eno) tune my 2007 Elactra Glideat Myrtle Beach Rally last week. He did a great job, taking his time and never getting in a hurry. I was using a can map in the PC3. AFR was all over the place. When he finished had 76hp 84ft # of torque. AFR was around 13.2. the bike runs great and is a lot cooler. Total cost $220.

Can anyone suggest a good DynoTuner in the San Diego or So Cal area who is good with a PCIII? I'd like to have mine done pretty soon here...

Thans for the responses...Was planning on taking it to one of the HD dealers in Austin next wek and they told me they needed it for a minumim of 5 hours...just guessing but their labor is probably around 70 an hour and thatadds up to at least $350 or more...sounds a bit steep to me

Ask the dealership if they have "Tuning Link". It helps tune it in by computer without a lot of manual intervention.

If you feel like a drive to Dallas, Jim Sabin at Sabin Performance charges $200.00 with a linked dyno. It took two hours tops and that was including installing the PClll and the air cleaner. He tunes a lot of HD's.

I think above $200 is a rip off. I took mine to a PC Dyno affiliate and they told me it would be $45 to do a 'test' run to establish a baseline. Then my options would be $75 an hour to tune it or I could pay $200 total (which included the 'test' run) and they would make me a custommap. He said it might take 2-3 hours to custom map it. Well, INCLUDING the 'test' run they had it on the dyno for less than an hour, even taking time to explain what they were doing before the actual map processing. Hell, I could have paid only $45 and $75 and come out $80 to the good! I think they knew it wouldn't take long and jerked me around. Hell, I was happy with the results but I bet if I had not wanted to do the $200 deal, the tech WOULD have taken 2-3 hours! I'm not claiming it wouldn't take some that long but I really doubt it would plus, I didn't want my bike on the dyno getting hammered to max RPM for that long anyway. I don't have a prob with people making a profit for their services but I think it's bullsh!t to get ripped off.
