Default Passing Lamp Relay Failure?

I have a set of passing lamps wired up to my 2004 Dyna, which work off of a relay that gets its signal from the headlamp high beam. The way it is wired, you can run the passing lamps on either high or low beam, wired per the instructions that came with the Autoswitch I installed a year ago.

The question I have is can a relay just go bad? The lights were working one night, now they don't. I've checked all of the grounds and supply wired, there is power to the relay socket and to the passing lamp lug when the switch is activated, but no passing lamps.

I guess these could go bad, just never really heard of one doing that. Any input would be appreciated.

Default RE: Passing Lamp Relay Failure?

Beyond continuity, did you check the relay with a meter? You may, indeed, have continuity [power] without necessarily having adequate current. Anyway, that is why it is probably a good idea to have some spare relays along with the spare fuses.
