Default 2001 FLTRISE2 miss fires HELP

Hot or cold when its running it seems to sputter and when it does I can see yellow inside the throttle body. Sometimes the front sometimes the rear. I am not familiar with the Magnetti-Marelli EFI. Is it the problem? Is it the ECM? If its the ECM where can I get one used? New? Injectors? I installed a new crank position sensor and a engine temp. sensor. It was running strong and then this happened

It has 90000 miles new cams ect at 50000. Just was going down the road one day and this started to happen. I'm retired . Can't afford another bike. It looks and did run lake new.

Thanks for looking.
Joe

You need to do a fuel pressure test - very common for that bike to have a hole in the internal fuel line. Also check for intake leaks - very common.
When was the last time it had a fuel filter - long overdue if never replaced and you have 90k

I doubt you need an ECM, but if you do, I have one.

I'll second what Ed Ramberger said. Also check for any historic trouble codes.

If it is not a leak, or another code, and since it started after installing the TPS I would suggest that it was not installed correctly.

I'm going to be installing a new fuel pump and filter. What kind of fuel line can I use from the filter to the tank connect. My Harley dealer was no help. I have everything else. I think that I would be very stupid if I did not change that also.

THANKS AGAIN for all your help. This forum is priceless!!!!!

Also do you know the correct way to set the TPS? I lost my directions. The VDC for the first setting and the VDC for cold idle
Thanks again

The new fuel filter kits come with the lines you need for the filter to the pump and clamps. If you replace the quick disconnect it comes with a shorter line than it came with from the factory to prevent the excessively long line from rubbing. Use the factory lines for replacement.

It's rare for the pump to fail, but if you are doing a pump I would also get the quick disconnect and attached line. I think you'll need to buy an additional clamp.

Buy a new gasket, new sealing screws, a fuel filter kit, a quick disconnect line and if you really think so, a pump and clamp.

Also, PROTECT your tank. I typically lay down several layers of easy release painters tape such as the yellow or blue and also lay a towel where I am working. You WILL rub against the tank if you have never done this before.

Found a bubble on the bottom of the fuel tank when I took the fuel pump out. It's flexible when I push on it. Do I need to reline the tank??? Never ran in to this before'

Thanks again

Those tanks had a liner coating that often came apart. Probably 10 years ago mine came apart and clogged my pick up. I drained tank, got all the loose and flaking stuff out. Never resealed - never had a problem since.
