Is my math correct that would be 20 flats? That leads me to ask another question. How much thermal expansion is normal? By pre loading the lifters to nearly 3/4 of their travel distance is there a chance of the expansion causing things to "touch" that weren't meant to? I ask because I've readjusted the rods to 18 flats and it made the top end noise worse. This is what led me to want to try the Rockouts. The videos before install show a lot of play at the rocker shaft so the increased lift of the cam causing an increase in noise does make sense. I'm sure they won't make it completely quiet but it seems they would correct what should have been an unacceptable amount of play on the part of the MoCo. I know there will still be noise from the valves themselves but the amount of noise it currently has I think is too much.

Total lifter travel is .200 so at .140 you have .060 from bottom. No worry about thermal expansion.
