Finally I hooked up electrical parts together and getting ready to start engine first time after buying the bike. When I turn ignition on, I see key light on speedometer, fuel pump makes noise, starter turns engine(spark plugs disconnected)
I hope security system doesn't block engine from starting. If it does block it, I will possibly have to bring the bike on a trailer to a dealer. Will I have to bring it there? Do they have to program key fob to the bike?

 

If you have a bike with TSSM and no fob, you won't be able to start it unless you have the bypass code, IIRC. If you have the code, you can mate it to a new fob by going through a long drawn out procedure or simply taking it to the dealer and have them pair the fob to the bike.. No code I think you have to replace the TSSM.

This is only my limited understanding of the security system. I know of a few guys that bought salvage bikes and they usually end up buying a new TSSM.. I'd talk to the dealer to be sure tho.. I've not had to go through this procedure.

 

The security system will not allow the engine to turn over if it is active. Since your engine will turn over the security system is not interfering.

The bike likely does not have a security system.. Another possibility is that there is something messing with the security system and he has the fob.
