Barely got it home.
My 06 WG started cutting out on my way to work. I thought maybe the gas gauge wasn't working and topped off the tank. The problem didn't get better so I turned around and headed home. I noticed that the speedometer would drop to zero when the bike cut out so I'm thinking electrical. That night the security alarm started for no reason and I couldn't get it to stop. I pulled the battery and it was still making loud noise. I pulled the seat to see what I could do to disconnect the alarm and it finally stopped. Now I'm wondering if the security alarm is the problem. Any thoughts?

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Working crazy hours. I'm thinking about disconnecting the alarm to see if it runs better. The battery looks like its good but we'll see. The battery cables were tight a the battery but I haven't looked at the other ends yet. There was no juice to anything while the alarm was going off so maybe the alarm caused that. The alarm had no reason to go off and it wouldn't stop using the key fob or disconnecting the battery. Hope fully I can look at it this weekend. I need to ride.

You could be right saltlick. I just read an old post about the problem caused by the key fob battery going dead. It could be the problem from what I read. I'll replace that battery and see what happens. Appearantly the key fob gives a constant signal to the security system and if the battery goes bad it can screw thing up. Worth a try.

The alarm has an internal rechargeable battery as well, and when it goes out it can cause erratic operation too, check your FOB batteries as well as that one.
