At about 850 miles my '05 FXDXI started to run rough and the check engine light came on.

I took it in to the dealer to check problem and had the 1000 mi service done at the same time.

They replaced a bad IAT sensor (what is on work order) but to me the bike is not near as "smooth" as it was before the sensor problem.

Bike prior to sensor going out only had sligh rough/vibration spot arond 2700-2800 rpm and was smooth as butter at 3k. Now only place in rpm range where it is smooth is at 2500 rpm and at 3k is quite "buzzy" on the footpegs.

Gas smell was very strong when I got bike hime from service. Called dealer and took bike back and dealer service rep rode bike and thought it was ok, but had the techs look at it and primary chain and drive belt were both loosened. Gas smell has not happened again.

I think the bike still vibrates much more than it had before the sensor went out.

Could this have to do with the EFI? Definitely started around the time the "idiot light" came on.

IAT should be a Inlet Air Temp sensor also referred to as a charge temp sensor
