Default Question about the VOES

&nbsp\\;I have a question about the VOES...I&nbsp\\;have a 1988 FXRS,its got some mods done to the engine...S&amp\\;S heads,super-e carb, cam, etc. I have pretty much a stock ignition with the exception of the ignition module..its a Screamin' Eagle 6800 rpm rev lmiter...My question is do I need the VOES anymore with that SE module?..can I disconnect from the system?&nbsp\\;or do I still need it for timing?...thanx.

The VOES will help protect your modified engine from detonatio nby retarding the timing in a part throttle and wot loads

&nbsp\\;Thanx for the reply Doc 1...so basically the Voes will still function even with the SE module..right?...Well I need to replace it anyway one of the wire had broke off right at the housing...If you say that it will still help with adjusting the timing I'll be sure to keep it then.

Ride the bike and listen for spark knock...if none exist then your good to go but if it does the VOES will protect your motor.
