Default GMR 107 the way to go by the looks of it.

Well after kickin it around for some time now (since sept 07) I have been checkin out everyones "kits" and so far, bang for your buck pricing and random chatter, it seems that GMR 107 kit is the way to go.
copy and paste from website: http://www.gmrperformance.com/Twin_C...e_Packages.htm
--------
For $1995.95 (gear drive cams add $300 to the kit price) you get:
· 10.1 Forged JE pistons with rings, clips and pins (big +++ as far as im concerned)
· Andrews 55 cam and install kit (would like to look at changing that to the new 54) · Complete MLS top end gasket kit · Stage III CNC-Cutting your heads cut on 6 axis CNC · New guides tapered and diamond honed · New viton seals · New Ferrea 1.9 intake valves · New Manley 1.625 exhaust valves cut down (that allows a 80% margin= great for flow) full radius valve job · Milled to CC needed for compression based on cam choice · New springs and set to correct seat pressure for the 55G (didnt think this was needed for the new 54)
· Machine and install compression release's (another plus!)
· GMR custom made chromemoly 3/8 adjustable pushrods ( these are not quick install, if you want a quick install type please specify at time of ordering) (3rd plus for me. I didnt want heavy adjustable pushrods that *could* potentially loosen up but its rare)
The cost for fitting rings is $40 $30 for cam install to your plate
or $60 for both services.-------

Now how can anyone argue with a kit like that at a price like that? I priced the same kit out at another shop and they were $700 higher!

I realize GMR reuses your jugs while some other places use specific 3.937 bore jugs but there hasnt been any issues using HD jugs bored out to that far.

SO. What im lookin for is FEEDBACK from GMR 107 kit users and abusers.
The only thing I havent factored into this is the cost of the newer SERT and a proper tune.

I havethe GMR 107 but I was only able to put a little over 50 miles on it because of the weather here, I'm following GMR'S break in guideline so it didn't go over 3,ooo RPM. I cantell you its very unharley like the way it moves and sounds,it feels like my 1800 wing did up to that rpm and partial throttle,Steve thought it be in the teens for torque & hp and I believe he may be right with what I've seen so far.

Bob (or anyone for that matter) have any updates or reports on how the GMR kit responds?

I have about 800 plus miles on now it really pulls good compared to my stock 96,I'm doing a bit less shifting and can use 5th & 6th to lower speeds within reason, not lugging,no oil usage either.I'm very happyso far,I'm tweaking the TMAX also because zippers has no map for my setup soI'm not done yet.

I can tell you now there won't be a dyno pull,I don't care about the numbers and beating up my bike on a dyno, thats why I bought the TMAX. All I care aboutis driveability,MPG and how it pulls from 20-80 MPH two up and loaded, from what I've seen I think I spent my money in the right place.
