Default Injector differences...Please help

Hi im wondering what the difference is between the part number 27609-01 and 27609-01A. These are fuel injectors. The ones i have been using have the A at the end but i found some without the A for a better price.

Will they work?

Thanks.

If you go to Chicago HD and punch in the part number 27609-01 you get:

27609-01A
27609-01B here: http://chicagoharley.com/shop/advanc...p;x=16&y=7

I assume they are for the two TC88A & TC88B engines. The parts catalog shows one (27609-01)for the police bike and one for civillian (27609-01A). So you better be sure before you buy em. But CHD shows the same price for both.

Oh yeah almost forgot........Welcome to the forum!

The -01A/B have nothing to do w/ 88A or 88B engines. When the MOCO supersedes any part they add a letter to the suffix. A part can be superseded for any number of reasons. Always try to obtain the latest part revision.

You are probably right but the MoCo's part numbering system leaves a lot to be desired. My rear roadwinder wheel has 2 part numbers stamped into it and a label with a 3rd number and the box has a 4th number (all very different). My SE air cleaner has one part number stamped on it and a different one on the box. Very confusing at the least. So my advice for this guy is to match his part number exactly if possible. BTW, I had 3 dealers tell me the roadwinder wheels you see in my pic would not fit my bike.

If you look I think you'll find that the earlier injectors are the 8 degree injectors and the later ones are the 25 degree injectors.

Possible but my 8 degree and 25 degree injectors had different part numbers. I had the change out from the M1185 tsb cold start issue.
