Ok, Hopefully this is my last question about monitors. I can get the non touch screen for $99.00 and a touch screen for $129.00.
Any suggestion?

Either will work fine
The touch screen is nice so you can stop the recording process without getting off the bike. However, mine isn't touch screen and it's no bother getting off the bike and stopping the recording on the computer.
Just depends on how much $$ you want to spend. Don't forget the 10" high temp or armored USB cable you will need.

tuning out ping
So when I run datamaster back, I see where timing was pulled back. Then I go one frame before it, write down the rpm and map reading at that point. From there I go to the next knock retard and write that information down and so on until I have recorded all hits in that cylinder.
Now here is where I'm a little uncertain. The timing table where I need to edit is set up in 250 rpm increments and 10 kPa increments. So for example, I wrote down 68.7 kPa and 2481 rpm. Do I go to the next lowest value or round up/down to find which cell to modify. In other words, do I remove a couple degrees of timing at 60kPa/2250rpm (next lowest) or 70kPa/2500rpm (rounding)?
Am I completely confused or just making it harder than it is?

All tables use "averaging" except for the very last cell.
Example: "IF" your starting cell was 0 then 1000 then 2000 and your final cell was 3000 then the 0 cell controls 0 to 500. The 1000 cell controls 500 to 1500. The 2000 cell controls 1500 to 2500 and so on. The final cell 3000 controls 2500 to infinity.
This goes for the left vertical column as well as the top horizontal column.
Your procedure of identifying the knock is correct. Now you have the information you seek for where to retard each table however. Don't throw darts, retard in blocks of two just to the left, right, top and bottom and retard 2* in this block. Record DM again and repeat until your knock retard is gone in that area.

I have a feeling that I am misunderstanding you.

I installed the canned map last night and went for a 5-10 min ride.
Impressions:
Heat was lower
Performance felt softer less crisp.
Hopefully Vtuning and/or some learning will help.
Next Up:
Doing the cam monitor procedure.

Thanks Wiz. If I understand this correctly, once I locate the cell by averaging, I then decrease timing in that cell AND the next TWO cells to the left, two to the right, two above and two below?? I'm basically making a big "plus sign" around the cell I discovered??
