Default power commander V

Looking to get a power commander for my 2007 Dyna and I talked to the guys at fuel moto and he suggested the power commander V has any one used one of these yet on an older bike ? the price is only $20.00 difference

Thanks Tim

had a power commander on my 06 roadking... worked great and a 20 minute install. BUT.. lol.. always a but... when I changed my pipes from vance and hines basic slip ons to thunderheaders, no one who tuned powercommanders in the local area could get the decel pop out of the pipes with the PC... i wound up coughing up a few bucks for a (at the time they called them race-tuners) HD race tuner. had it put on and tuned.. no more decel pop. you get a LOT more adjustability and fine tuning ability from the race-tuner. wish they weren't married to the ECM, I'd give you the one I have....

your decell popping had nothing to do with the power commander which is a tuning tool and the pc III or pc V is more than capable of tuning decell popping you have 100% adjustability of the efi and also ignition timing with the pc so it was likely that your tuner just felt more comfortable with the race tuner or wanted to sell you one.

im a newbee to HD. I am interested in a PCV after reading much on HDF for my SG. Does it come with detail instructions how to tune ? is the Map from PCV from manufacture just a base starting point ? I dont know in the general area where a Dyno is done where i am .. Once a fuel mangement is added to a scoot.. dont u have to verify by dyno to make sure the MAP entered is for optimal performance of the bike ?

I ordered a PC-V and a SE air filter for my 2007 UC from FuelMoto last week. I received it four days after ordering it with standard shipping. The PC-V takes 20 minutes to install. Jamie loaded a map for my setup before he shipped it (I have SE slipons). Load the software on your computer, save the map that Jamie loads and play to your hearts content. Make sure when your done that the origonal map is in the PC-V. The software program is pretty easy to work with which is good because the documentation that comes with it is horrible. Having said that Jamie or Keith are great about answering questions.

I rode for the first time today and the bike runs real well; very pleased with it . If I decide to do some major work down the line I'll add the Auto Tune.

Based on my short experience with the PC-V and the FuelMoto support and service you can't go wrong with this product.

Hey Jamie,

I am curious to the retrofit unit, I have an 08 Night Train and would like to go with this setup of the PCV. Is there any concerns using the retrofit? What differs from the regular PCV vs. the Retrofit unit?

Thanks

Jason

Hello, there are no concerns as far as the retrofit unit. Dynojet only offers the PC V and support for 2009 models, however Fuel Moto offers the 07-08 unit as a retrofit unit (with Dynojets approval) and we provide warranty and support on them. There are differences in the map formats as well as mounting procedure from PC III. There are some very good positives with the PC V, especially it's much smaller size.
