hey guys,

i have one very upset buddy right now. he just bought a cruise control unit for his '09 street glide. he tries to do most of his work himself and was unaware that the dealer had to enable cruise control.

apparently the parts catalog didn't state this and he didn't know until he saw the directions for the cruise control unit. so, he installed the unit and it didn't work. i told him on mine the cruise symbol lights up on the tach when the toggle switch is on and it turns green when the cruise is being used. his bike wont display the cruise symbol at all.

question is...is there any way that is known to enable the unit besides taking it back to the dealer?? i did a quick search and didn't find the answer. i saw one guy said the dealer charged him $200.00 to activate it - ouch!

i assume at this point the ecm has to be flashed or something.
