Ignition Timing Marks
Hi All -
I've got a 1200 Sportster with a Buell crank and can't figure out the timing marks. The original Sporty crank has a line at TDC, 2 dots at 20 degrees and 1 dot at 35 degrees. The 35 degree dot is where the timing is normally set (at 2000 rpm).
The Buell crank has a line at TDC and 2 dots. There is no single dot at 35 degrees and I'm not even sure if the 2 dots are at 20 degrees. So how do you set the timing on a Buell? What am I missing?
I'm thinking I need to use a dial-back timing light set at 35 and adjust to TDC?
Thanks - Don
