Question Popping on deceleration 96' Stage 2

Have a tride and true 1996 FLHTCUI with the MM system. Just started playing with it put on a SE A/C (stage 1), V&H slip on's, Wildthings Cam. Had it tuned with cam and intake but after I put on the exhaust starting hearing Popping on decel and shifting. Do I need to richin it up a bit.. Any suggestions heading for Sturgis and Dyno time is hard to come by now.

The dealership has to download a new fuel map.
Another option is to install a Race Fueler.
What do your plugs tell you?

I have a Race Tuner installed. Looking for what direction to go lean it out or poor gas to her. The Plugs are average and the mpg has not gone up. When running down the road I smell exhaust - rich like but I have been told by several the popping is a lean trait. Just looking for others experiences B4 I give in and dyno it at the local dealer. $$$ouch$$$

Brother I've tuned a few hot rods in my day. You want that plug to be a dark tan to light brown with todays gas. Popping is an indication of a lean condition. Turn a little fuel to her,,,she'll reward you...

Smile More fuel...

Just added more fuel to the fuel table for the upper rpm/throttle position. Less popping more zip but still rich at idle will experiment. Thanks for advice. Still welcome more info on tuning EFI. Old carb/ point guy myself so it is a learning curve that is very steep. I did also adjust the idle spark advance down at idle RPM seams to help with the normal run up of the MM system. No leaks in exhaust or intake as well.

The slipons may be the problem with the popping. When you reduce the restriction to flow, the popping sometimes gets more noticable. Check for any leaks in the system which can give decell popping too.

check your exahust gaskets at head where pipe meets head any air into combustion chambers will create a pop condition.make sure to tighten nuts evenly to torque spec.

your plugs wont tell you about your poping issue since its only happening at 0 throttle position,its got to be fattened up there,not across the whole RPM range
