SEPST was used to tune my bike by original owner and its running great . But now that I have the tuner I want to do a few smart tune runs to see if I can get the ever elusive better . The VCI shows that it needs to be updated when I plug into bike . I know that VCI will lose stored map when updated - but with I still be able to retrieve the map in the bike ? I want to save what is working well as a safety net . Bike currently has 241db001 map but I dont know how much has been done to the map .

With bike plugged in and turned on, go to tuning and click on the VCI tab instead of the stored calibration, that will let you pull the tune from the VCI. Then you save that on the PC. Save it as something like ORIGINAL tune.

It will pull the current tune file from the bike, even though you do not have it on a pc. Hope that is what you wanted.

those 8° injectors should have been replaced a long time ago under a service bulletin for 25° injectors. That might be part of your problem. Call your local dealer to find out about the swap.

service bulletin is here for your printing and taking to dealer pleasure
